A fifteen-year-old boy who lives in a small town in Texas, Vernon God Little falls under suspicion of murder after his friend Jesus Navarro commits suicide after killing sixteen bullying schoolmates. Fearing the worst, he escapes and heads for Mexico. An unforgettable black and profane comedy.

Winner of the Man Booker Prize, the Bollinger Wodehouse Everyman Prize for Comic Fiction and the Whitbread first novel award in 2003.  Rufus Norris directed a stage adaptation, by Tanya Ronder, at the Young Vic theatre in 2007.
